SEO and Meta Data

Configure metadata, search indexing, and social preview images for your Meku project. Control titles, descriptions, favicon, and SEO settings from the dashboard.

Meku allows you to configure global metadata, search engine indexing preferences, and site preview assets directly from the dashboard.

These settings control how your application appears in browser tabs, search engine results, and link previews on social platforms.

You can access this section from:

Site Metadata

Site metadata defines how your project is presented in browser tabs and search engine listings.

Site Title

The Site Title defines the HTML <title> tag that browsers and search engines display.

Example:

Meku.dev Clone

Best practices:

  • Keep the title under 60 characters
  • Include the product or brand name
  • Ensure the title clearly reflects the application

A clear title improves search result visibility and browser tab recognition.

Site Description

The Site Description defines the global meta description used by search engines.

This description typically appears below the page title in search results.

Best practices:

  • Keep the description between 140 and 160 characters
  • Clearly explain what the application does
  • Include relevant product or feature keywords

Well-written descriptions improve search result clarity and click-through rates.

Search Engine Indexing

Indexing controls whether search engines can crawl and include your project in search results.

Indexing can be set to:

Enabled

Search engines are allowed to crawl and index the site.

Disabled
Adds noindex behavior to prevent search engines from indexing the project.

Disabling indexing is useful for:

  • Projects under development
  • Staging environments
  • Internal tools or private applications

Indexing can be enabled later when the project is ready for public discovery.

Site Images

Site images define visual assets used by browsers and social sharing platforms.

Favicon

Upload a 64×64-pixel favicon for your project.

Favicons appear in:

  • Browser tabs
  • Bookmarks
  • Search results in some browsers

After uploading a favicon, a preview is displayed before saving.

Using a recognizable favicon helps strengthen brand identity.

Social Preview Image

Upload or generate a 1200 × 630 pixel image used when your project is shared on social platforms.

This image is used for:

  • Open Graph previews
  • Social media link previews
  • Messaging applications

Best practices for preview images:

  • Use clear branding or product visuals
  • Include readable text or headlines
  • Ensure balanced composition for preview cards

A strong preview image improves visibility when links are shared.

Saving Changes

After updating metadata or images, click Save Changes to apply the updates.

Changes are applied immediately to your deployed project.

Search engines and social platforms may take time to refresh cached previews.

Best Practices

To optimize your project’s visibility and presentation:

  • Configure metadata before enabling search engine indexing
  • Use a descriptive title and a clear summary of the application
  • Keep social preview images consistent with brand identity
  • Disable indexing for staging builds or internal tools

Well-configured metadata improves discoverability, link previews, and overall project presentation.
