Theme

Set the visual style of your project before you send your first prompt. Themes control colors, typography, and effects Meku uses across your entire generated app.

Every Meku project starts with a default theme. Choose a built-in theme, customize an existing one, or create your own before building. Once your project is generated, you can no longer switch themes from the Theme menu. Style changes after generation are done through prompting.

Choosing a theme

Before you start building, pick the theme that fits your project. This sets Meku's full visual setup for generation.

Where to find it

Click the Theme button in the prompt bar at the bottom of the editor before starting your project. A dropdown appears with all available themes. Select any theme to preview how it looks before applying it.

To customize a theme in detail, click Manage Themes inside the Theme panel.

Default themes

Meku includes five built-in themes to start from:

• Default - neutral tones, works across most project types
• Sky - blue-led palette, clean and modern
• Ember - warm orange tones, bold and energetic
• Lavender - soft purple tones, calm and minimal
• Brutalist - high contrast, stark black and white

Each built-in theme sets a full color system including primary, secondary, accent, card, popover, muted, and destructive colors across both light and dark modes.

Creating a custom theme

• Click Theme in the prompt bar.
• Select Create Theme at the bottom of the dropdown.
• Give your theme a name.
• Adjust colors, typography, and effects using the theme editor.
• Click Save Theme to store it in your account.

Your saved themes appear in the theme dropdown alongside the default ones.

Customization option

The theme editor gives you control over three areas of your project's visual style.

Colors

Every color role in your project is configurable: Base, Primary, Secondary, Accent, Card, Popover, Muted, and Destructive. Each role has a background and foreground value, so text always stays readable.

Typography

Set the font style for your project. Options include sans-serif for a modern, clean look, serif for an elegant, classic feel, and mono for a technical style.

Effects

Control visual effects like shadows, borders, and radius to match the overall feel of your design.

Dark mode

The theme editor includes a dark mode toggle. Enable it to preview and configure how your theme looks in dark mode. Both light and dark variants are saved together as one theme.

Changing styles after generation

The Theme menu is only available before your first prompt. Once your project is generated, use prompts to modify colors, typography, or component styles. For example: "Change the primary color to indigo and update all buttons to match."

Deleting a theme

Open the theme you want to remove in the Manage Themes panel and click Delete. Built-in default themes cannot be deleted; only the custom themes you created can.
